back in the game

By the time this post publishes, I'll be halfway through my morning.  It's my first official day back to work and I'm nervous, excited, scared and sad- you know, a whole host of emotions.

I've always loved my profession and working with kiddos on their speech/language, but it has also been a passion of mine to be a Mommy at home.

Starting today, I will be working up to 4 hours, 2 mornings a week.  I'll go to one site and see kids with a variety of speech/language needs.  Our babysitter will come to the house and watch the boys while I'm away.

My experience working in pre-K gave me the vision for these documents.  Yes, I am that Mom.  Tell me everything about my children's morning.  :)

Please pray for me.  I'm so sad to be leaving them.  Once I let the sadness go, I know I'll enjoy the day. There are many benefits of me working 8 hours a week or we wouldn't have made the decision for me to accept this position.  Nevertheless, it's tough.  :(

So proud of him.

Aside from the expressive language brilliance, he's communicating effectively and showing some aversion to sharing Mommy time with baby Andrew.  I get it.  Especially when sick.

Thankfully, Andrew's feeling weren't hurt and we were able to enjoy snack together before sweet little Love went back for a nap.

My Amazing Son

Expressive Language: Above Average
(for my speechies out there- he's almost 21 months)

He's using carrier phrases-
(I did not teach him these!!! He picked them up on his own)

I want ____.
I need ____.
I see ____.

Yesterday he said, "me airplane" (me ah pane)
And today he said "Run!" (wun)

He's repeating different words I use, like 'nice' or 'neat.'

I need juice

This 3-word combination* was uttered today by our sweet little boy.  You may not know, but a 3-word combination is ahead of the curve, language-wise.  The typical child will begin to have 2-word combinations around the age of 24 months/2 years.  Zach is 20 months and using 3 word combinations.
Yes, he is amazing.

Additionally, he sings the tune to 4 different songs.
