Colleen & Mike's Wedding. What a wonderful time to be with family and celebrate our beloved Colleen. She is the baby of the family in many respects and while this was a happy, happy day, it was also difficult to let her go. She is a special girl who has grown into a beautiful young lady and one of my best friends. We're so happy for her and Mike.

June 9
Josh turned 30!! He has 2 surprise parties- 1 in NC and 1 in WI. He enjoyed his parties, especially with surprise visitors like the Hernesman's, who we haven't seen since our wedding.

We also had a surprise gift for his unsuspecting parents, who celebrated 35 years of marriage. Ironically, Josh was born on his parent's birthday. Yes, God does have a sense of humor!

July
Meaghan & Jason's wedding reception. Their wedding took place in the spring, but we celebrated with them in July. It was a beautiful night, white tables, chairs and tent with the backdrop of water. Jason sang and played a John Mayer song (Better Together) for Meaghan before the night was through.

Our first mission trip together. Our group of 6 adults and 10 teens put on a sports camp for 75+ adolescents in Trinidad. With numbers like that, you know God showed up in big ways to make it work!

September 13
St. Baldrick's Event- I shaved my head with Amber to raise support for Childhood Cancer Research in honor of one of our students, Vinny D. Vinny was there that evening with his sister and parents. I still touch my hair in wonder.

August 9
Our 5 year anniversary. We traveled to St. John's in the Virgin Islands and enjoyed peace and rest the whole week. We enjoyed the locals, the food and especially, the amazing beaches and water. Pic is taken at Honeymoon Beach.

October
My 30th birthday! Josh planned a wonderful weekend getaway at a nearby cabin in the mountains! We also dined at the Melting Pot and I had homemade breakfast from the best scrambled egg cook around. (Yosh) :)

December
Celebrating New Year's Eve was very special this year. Brian will be leaving for his 3rd tour in Iraq this January. My Mom surprised us all by 'dropping by' for the days preceding New Year's. Josh joined us on New Year's Eve and we enjoyed family and each other.

2008 was a pretty special year for us. 5 years always seemed like a big accomplishment- now, we go for 10. 30 used to old- but here I am. And 2009 used to be a far-away event, but here we are.
