Christmas, 2011
Our baby is turning into a little boy right before our eyes. He is a joy and a delight and a lot of work these days! :) Zach had a really BIG month with lots of exciting things happening!
He is crawling on all 4s and is very fast! Shortly after figuring out crawling, he started pulling up on furniture. Shortly after that, he started walking along furniture!! And at the end of December, he started pushing a cart and walking behind it! Oh MY!
Zach really likes putting tops back on things- the top back on his toy 'cookie' jar, the lid back on his lotion, the cap back on his bottle, etc. Recently, he put his shoe over his foot. :D Smart kid!
playing in the drawers; sharing with Daddy as he takes them out
Zach's started to raise his hand in the direction of something he wants. He always love hitting the ceiling fan strings, wants to touch things on top of his dresser, loves phones, ipods, touchpads, etc. So, he frequently will lift his hand to any one of these things in his sweet way of asking to touch something.
this is his silly face where he breaths through his nose and wants us to imitate!
love his scrunchy mouth/nose!
Zachary has dropped his late afternoon nap and started to sleep longer in the morning. He usually goes 10-11:40ish and then 3-4. We put him down around 7 or 7:30 and he sleeps till 7 the next morning. Zach is eating a lot of real food these days. We haven't dropped any bottle feedings because I don't want to not offer that as a choice for him. He certainly doesn't drink as much, but as much as he wants is available. :)
loves to look outside and bang on the door
Zach is increasingly wanting to do things himself. He wants to feed himself with the spoon, feed himself from the actual container (as opposed to it being on his tray). He wants to hold his cup, hold the straw, etc.
Clothes are a difficult area for us. Zach is measuring a short 29" long (less than 50th percentile) and is a heavy weight 24.2 lbs (~90th percentile) so he wears 18, 18-24 month onesies and bottoms. Of course, his cloth diaper helps with the girth, but he really is pretty round in the belly. :)
Babblings: Zach hasn't added any new sounds (we are definitely waiting for /m,b,p/) but continues to try and imitate us. He likes to 'bark' after the dog sound and 'oink' after the pig sound. He loves hearing us make these sounds and thinks it's very funny. He pops his mouth (which is technically /p/) and still loves to scream. In fact, in his car seat, he has what sound like mini conversations. He gets some attitude going and talks to the car behind him (??) da da DA da DA DA DA. Add some emphasis and vary the volume and you've got it.

Happy 11 months sweet Zachary! We are so excited about the growing you've done and the little boy you're becoming!
