Zachary is 2!

the days are long,
but the years are short.

My Sweet Zachary,

From the moment we laid eyes on you, we knew God had big plans for your life.  We are so privileged to be part of this plan.  Being your Mommy has taught me so much.  You live life with gusto and embrace each day with passion.  If the moon is visible- you will let us know (and ask to hold it).  If you spot an airplane- no matter how far away- you are quick to shout for joy!   You love your baby brother with such tenderness and affection, it brings tears to my eyes.

You love all things that move- cars, trucks, vans, trains, airplanes, boats, etc.  If you hear a loud engine going past the house, you race to the window to see what it could be.  Traveling long distance is a treat for you because of the variety of vehicles you see through the window.  And naturally, you point out each 'cool car' and 'semi' you spot.  :)

You continue to have a love affair with food.  Whatever we are eating, you are interested in and want to try.  I think Baby Led Weaning has something to do with this, but also that you love food.  Yes, God knew what He was doing when he placed you in our family.  Recently, you ate sardines with your father and that same night, enjoyed a salad with me!

Your eye teeth are coming in on the top and bottom, which causes soreness and pain.  Thankfully, a little medicine and Mommy snuggles are enough to make everything alright.

You are a silly little boy and love to laugh.  You think your Dada is the funniest man alive.  When he's around, you want to play with him and be near him.  "I pay Dada?" = I play with Dada?

Books about football, basketball, trains or vehicles hold your attention well.  You still love some old favorites, like Pajama Time, Goodnight Moon and I Can Be.

One of your favorite things in the world is to sing or listen to music.  You have a gift of learning a tune and humming/singing it back.  I've lost track of how many songs you sing, but we hear you in your crib each morning, singing away.

We love you more than you could ever know.
