Got Zach out to dry off and get into pjs and noticed that sometime between the bathroom and his bedroom, he'd stop responding. Blank face, distant eyes.
He immediately woke me up, handed me Zach and called 911. Ambulance and fire truck came. Zach was thought to have a febrile seizure due to spiked fever. They took him in to hospital to make sure he was ok.
It was a good thing too, because he couldn't hold anything down. They took an accurate temp of 101.8 and watched him. His fever started to drop and our boy started to get his spunk back. When he left here, he couldn't even tell us his name. Once his fever dropped, he asked if he could play and asked for food.
They were sent home around 11 and once Josh convinced Zach it was time to sleep, they slept soundly till morning.
It was a scary time but also a time when we felt the peace of The Lord. Our boy is back today, knocking over his brother, stamping his feet and eating like a champ. He's still getting over his sickness, and we are diligent about medicating every 4 hours.
Whew.
