Birthday for Katie

For my birthday, Josh and I enjoyed 24 hours of kid free time. We ate lunch downtown, I baked, read a book [Watership Down] and listened to the quiet. .. That evening, we had take out and then met friends from out of town at a restaurant.  It was late when we arrived home so we were up to watch the Cubs finish off the Dodgers and celebrate going to the World Series.  There was late night pot de creme and no worries about an early morning. 
On Sunday we picked the kids up after church and went to watch Clemson volleyball play Wake Forest. It was so much fun.
My other picture shows a beautiful flower cake, chocolates and balloon from family.  ♡♡
It was lovely.

Zachary's 4th birthday

We started the fun at our nearest for department. The firefighters gave us a tour and let the kids explore every area of interest.
They had a tanker truck, a hazardous materials truck and a smaller 4x4 truck. The kids explored every nook and cranny.
Then the firefighter named Danny put on all his gear. He looked pretty scary but we managed a group picture anyway.

Cake and ice cream followed at our home along with birthday gifts. It was nice enough that the kids went out to play in the backyard. :)
